FYI for those traveling to and from the Sterling Area: An 8 hour closure of Highway 14 (about 11 miles west of Sterling) will be in place on 4/23 to allow CDOT crews to work on a bridge. The closure will be from 8am-4 pm. There will be a hard closure at the bridge and soft closure west at Highway 71 and east at CO 6. Detour will be CO 71 and CO 6. Local traffic will be allowed through the soft closure area. Crews plan on finishing the work on 4/23, but work may continue through 4/24.

Mrs. Bailey had another successful year of taking her 3rd graders to pioneer school in Stoneham. The students dressed the part, packed a pioneer lunch, read from old readers, practiced their penmanship with fountain pens, made and shared a pioneer toy, wrote on slates, had a spelling bee, jumped rope, learned the pioneer way, and learned lots of history. It was a great day!
