3rd grade's Native American day was a success last week. They had been studying and researching different tribe leaders and their presentations were excellent! They got to see several real Native American artifacts, eat Native American food, and play Native American games! They even got to grind corn the Native American way!

Wet distillers grain that was hauled from Sterling to McEndaffer feed yard for palatability and protein in a feed ration.
Each calf is weighed at Quail Ridge, turns out the Prairie Ag students weigh 3,050 lbs.
Feeding dairy cattle is a complicated process. The ration must be consistent and provide correct nutrients.
Bird’s eye view of the milking parkour at Quail Ridge. We talked about the flow of traffic and animal husbandry.
What a great day exploring the Ag industry in our community. First stop, Quail Ridge Dairy then to McEndaffer Cattle Compnay. We finished the day in Sterling at the Ethanol plant and NJC. Great day to explore careers in different industries and draw connects from one business to another. We are so lucky to have community members who open their business and share with our students.

We had a great day on our business industry tours today. First stop, Gordon Insurance. Then onto Bank of Colorado. Next stop was Furniture Mart and finally Colorado Plains Medical Center. Students learned key information not only about careers, but also about the soft skills needed to advance in the workforce.
