Mad Math: 5th graders trying completing HW in an unorthodox way. I learned about this strategy at professional development and I made up the name of the game. Students loved it - math today was electric.

The Ag program had a great day! We went to the front range and toured Fagerberg Produce (onion processing and the farm), 4 Rivers Equipment, and Double J Meat Processing. Students asked tons of questions! What a great way to close out the semester. Fagerberg was the first farm in Colorado to implement drip irrigation to its crops. Today they use the system in over 300 acres. They also have 2,00 acres from Eaton to Fort Morgan. 4 Rivers Equipment houses $2.8 million dollars worth of parts for Ag and construction equipment needs. They showed us new technology on forage harvesters that will measure moisture content, partial size and so much more while harvesting your crop. And Double J walked us through the process of a cow becoming the product on our grocery shelves. They also harvest bison there. We learned about the by-products, aging beef products and quality assurance.

Our second stop was Empower Field @ Mile High where we toured the facility and learned about all the areas of the business. On a game day, there are 3700 employees working and running the stadium. What a wide variety of potential careers!
