Wow! We had a Barn (Gym) burner on Tuesday night. Our HS Volleyball team hosted the Otis Lady Bulldogs. On a night that saw several shifts in momentum and the Mustangs getting down by two sets early, our Lady Mustangs rallied, fought back and won the match, 25-27, 11,25, 25-12, 25-15, and 15-3. Congratulations to all our ladies (and gentleman) on a great comeback win! The crowd was in it all the way, with an especially loud and proud Prairie Student Section!!! Thanks for the support! The Lady Mustangs are now holding a record of 11-2, and they are ranked at #7 in the CHSAA Selection and Seeding Index!! (The top 12 teams host a regional game.) Keep up the great work Ladies!
In addition to a hard-fought win, our own Nicole Ludgate hit 1,000 Career Assists Friday night at Caliche, and she was celebrated last night for such an accomplishment! Nicole now sits in the number one spot in 1A North Central's Stat Leaders for Assists with a 47-assist lead on the number two spot.
Our younger Lady Mustangs also faced off with the Bulldogs with a B game and A game earlier in the evening. The B team came away with a 2 set WIN!! ( I apologize, for some reason my Notes App did not save their set scores.) The A team battled but ended with a loss, 22-25, 15-25.
Tomorrow, Oct. 10, our Varsity Volleyball and Football teams are back in action as we host Weldon Valley with volleyball starting at 5:00 pm and football at 7:00 pm. The Juniors will be doing concessions featuring El Jacel burritos. Our Lady Mustangs, Coach Bright and Coach Hubbard will be back in action Saturday afternoon, taking on the Eads Eagles at 3:00 pm, again at home, SO COME CONTINUE TO SHOW OUR TEAMS THE PRIDE AND LOVE WE HAVE FOR OUR MUSTANGS! The 7th grade will be doing concessions for that game.
Our athletes are working hard and classes are taking care of the food so you can come out, support, and enjoy our Mustangs! Thank you!
