I will show respect to myself and others.
I will take responsibility for my learning and actions.
I will live in a safe and healthy way.
Prairie P.O.W.E.R. is a program that was developed by the behavior committee several years ago, in an attempt to reward and acknowledge positive student behavior. This program promotes respect and responsibility, as well as safe and healthy living. It is our hope that students who participate in this program will become even better students and citizens.
Students are nominated by their teachers. A carbon copy of the nomination is given to the student, and one is put in the weekly nomination jar. All student nominees are honored by having their names posted on the Prairie P.O.W.E.R. bulletin board. Every week a name is drawn from the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High nomination jars to determine the students of the week. This gives every student nominated a chance to become a weekly winner. Each month the two students with the most nominations from the Elementary and Jr./Sr. High divisions are given the title of student of the month. Students are only eligible to be recognized as student of the month one time per year. They can, however, continue to accumulate the greates number of nominations, and be named the student of the year. A year end celebration of student achievement is held to honor all of our fine Prairie P.O.W.E.R. citizens.
