Seniors work a little differently by concentrating on more leadership and real-world language arts skills such as scholarship applications, essays, job applications, and fine-tuning their short essay skills. They will study a brief unit on our spoken English language in 500 AD.  Group projects and presentations will teach collaboration. Novels and reading selections will include:  Beowulf, Shakespeare’s Macbeth, and Shelley’s Frankenstein as well as individual novel projects.  Formal writing will include cause/effect, persuasion, satire, and literary responses to prompts.  Ample time will also be given for scholarship writing and for editing post-high school writings and scholarship applications.
