Proud Mustangs!  This year you will have the opportunity to really start exploring and thinking about options after high school.  From time to time information will be posted on this, your page, on the website.  An email will also be sent to you, to let you know about additions to your page.  Some scholarship opportunities will be made available during this year of your high school career.  They will be sent to you via email, but they will also be posted to the Junior page on the website.  Keep working hard and stay up with all your assignments.  The finish line is near:)  Should you have any questions, don't hesitate to stop by the Career Coach's office or send an email.

ASVAB(Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery)  OPTIONAL   NO FEES
           Date - Tuesday, November 15, 2016
           The ASVAB Career Exploration Program is a comprehensive career exploration and planning program that includes a multiple-aptitude test battery, an interest inventory, and various ca reer planning tools designed to help you explore the world of work.  The eight areas tested are:  general science, arithmetic reasoning, word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, mathemati cs knowledge, electronics information, auto and shop information, and mechanical compre hension.   www.asvab.com
 
PSAT/NMSQT(Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
Date - October 19, 2016        OPTIONAL   FEE ASSESSED
This exam is practice for the SAT and students that opt to take this exam are automatically entered in the National Merit Scholarship Program should they score very well.  These scholarship opportunities start at $2,500.     www.collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/psat-nmsqt-psat-10.
 
SAT (Nationally recognized standardized test for college entrance)
Date - April 11 or 12, 2017    REQUIRED     NO FEES (When taken @ Prairie)
This college entrance exam can be taken during junior and senior years and can be taken more than once.  All juniors at Prairie will take the exam in the spring.     www.sat.org
