Similar to the middle school life science curriculum, but in much greater depth, students in high school biology study the science of life. Students study the workings of the cell, dna, genetics, classification of living things and the teory of evolution. They will also learn details about organisms and physiology of te five major kingdoms of living things; protists, bacteria, fungi, plants and animals. Students will also investigate the anatomy, physiology, diseases and health of the eleven organ systems of the human body. To supplement the study of the organ systems, students will have the opportunity to perform dissections on several organisms.
